From the January 1973 edition of WOMAN'S DAY - the '73 Cleaning featuring the Model 3610 (?) Hoover Floor-A-Matic & Model 1265 Eureka Power Team. Groovy!

Eek! Look at that hose storage!

Oh for F’s if sake, somebody disconnect that hose from the power nozzle! Such a horrible thing to do to a hose when you’re not using it! I bet that one didn’t last very long.

That was a staged photo created by an art director - not a real closet. He or she probably faced a challenge fitting the orange Eureka canister sitting on its end under the first shelf with the hose connected and so decided to disconnect it from the canister and hang it on the wall hook instead. In real life, most users kept the hose connected at the canister and disconnected at the wand.

It's hard to believe that photo feature was published 50 years ago!

I overlooked the hose storage and some of the shelf items including Jubilee Kitchen Wax, Bravo furniture polish, and Brasso metal polish. I think Bravo has been discontinued. Jubilee had been but has been brought back by another company ; and Brasso's marketing has continued for over 100 years! The 3610 & 1265 are even undoubtedly still used in some homes - including those with their '60s & '70s cleaning closets.

Interesting company behind Jubilee................

The present day manufacturer also makes Grease Relief, ZUD cleanser, Bluette laundry bluing, NuSoft Fabric Softener and our old friend, Carpet Fresh. I was almost expecting to see Spic N Span in the product line up.

If the Jubilee is still as good as it used to be, I'm buying Grease Relief next.

Ah the folding shopping trolley, my great grandmother had one of those for getting groceries at the local family-owned supermarket run by locals in the neighborhood, which was just 2 blocks from her house and within a neighborhood itself. Not something you see anymore. She also had a "cleaning closet" in her house.

I also see Noxon metal polish in the green metal can.
Somewhere, in a cupboard at my parents' house, I bet they still have that exact same can.

Oh! And "Big Wally" wall cleaner! I missed that one the first time.
I used to like using that as a kid, when I would help Mom with housecleaning.
There might still be an empty can of that hanging around their place too.
Do people even clean their walls any more? Never mind there being a cleaner made specifically for it.
