This Hoover is nothing I have really seen a lot. This is a $10 machine and about an hour away from where I live. Apparently it comes with lots of extra belts + bags. Let me know if you think I should get this machine.

Sure could be a nice quick picker upper for quick clean up, or a toy machine you use to have fun with . At 10$ enjoy it gift your self looks in good condition seems to have all the tools with it .

If you want it, get it. If you don't want it, don't get it.

Make sure it doesn't have a broken fan so that your $10 and 1 hour drive don't go to waste.

Those fans are no longer available and are getting harder to find every day.

If it was something like a Convertible, Dial-A-Matic, Concept, or anything designed before the Maytag takeover, I'd consider it. I'm not too crazy on Elites since I don't like them as much as the older Hoovers, but they're overall not really bad machines.

I think others who have responded to this thread have provided excellent advice, especially regarding things to watch out for. But if it pleases you and will enhance your existence in some way, then $10 is a small price to pay. Otherwise, it may be better to pass it by. Truth be told, I can count up more instances of regret over buying a vacuum than not buying one. I've made more than one impulse purchase and later asked myself why the hell I actually thought that was a good idea. I donated a couple of those 'mistakes' to my church's rummage sale a couple of years ago, and I subsequently imposed a moratorium on any further 'vacquisitions'. Extreme? Perhaps. But it's been over a year since I've bought one and I accept that I've got plenty of 'toys' I can play with.
