Looking for Ballpark retail sold year of Eureka 3330A?

Also looking for a few stainless steel or chromed latches (I think) model number 37136

Also was this chrome latch available on other models?

I am thinking that the 3000-series succeeded the 1600-series in the early 1980s. The 3330-A looks similar to the 1630-B - also in yellow (see early '70s poster below).

As for the latch, I have seen the chrome latch on other models. I'd guess that ones made from the mid-1980s on had plastic latches.

If you click on the link below, you will get a clearer picture of the 3330 canister. It is probably from the early 1980’s - maybe 1982 or 1983.

The 3000 series is basically a newer line of budget compact Princess canisters - newer versions of the 700 series (not the larger 1600 Sweet Sixteen series).

The 1970’s square Princesses had a larger plastic hood latch that doubled as an exhaust diffuser and rear leg to stand on when the canister was positioned on its end. The 3000 series cheapened that part of the vacuum and you just got a metal latch to secure the cover in place.

I found an October 15, 1982, ad for the model 3330 (likely Type A).

Thanks for the correction, Brian.

Schematics

According to the schematics, the 1800 Series immediately succeeded the 500 & 700 Series followed by the 3000 Series.

Re: Reply #4

Read too quickly. The schematic breaks down the 3000 series into "types": 500, 700, & 1600 (not 1800).

Apparently, there were sometimes sub-series within a series. I'd like to know how the model numbers were chosen. To a consumer it seems somewhat random, but there must have been some rationale.
