I vaguely remember seeing handle brace kits for Dial A Matic handles on eBay a few years back. Just curious if anyone has a picture of one attached to a machine. Were they genuine or an aftermarket part?

Cracks at upper housing were a problem if held or carried improperly. The kits I've seen were an after market folded metal cap screwed at bottom of handle.

Here's an 1149 with the brace. Seems odd so soon after that model was built.
