Given the fact that Proteam and Ridgid are both owned by Emerson Tool Company, it is no surprise that Ridgid would eventually have a backpack vacuum. To me, it looks like it is based off of the Proteam Super Coach Pro 6 backpack vacuum with a different tool set and a shorter cord at only 20 feet. I think the tools are regular Ridgid shop vac tools just adapted for a backpack vacuum.

I've used the Super Coach version before. Very nice machine even though I'm not a fan of backpacks. But I did remember one of the filter covers either broke or didn't like to stay on which I thought was annoying. The Ridgid version looks like they've improved that. I think this would be excellent to use for reaching up to higher areas that the wet/dry vacs can't get to. Though using a paper bag wouldn't be smart as it can clog up really fast with drywall or saw dust, not to mention the cost of replacing bags versus using the wet/dry vacs as bagless that you can save money on. Overall, I'd prefer using the wet/dry vacs over this.
