Today my Miele dealer received a brand new (old stock) Miele S7 Swing. I have wanted a swing or tango for so long and in 2017 I purchased a used S7 Salsa. Today I traded the Salsa for the Swing. I have to bring the Salsa back tomorrow as I was not expecting to purchase a machine today but they gave me a $300 trade in allowance for my Salsa because they know the condition of it since I just recently had it serviced. Here are some pictures of it:

If only I could afford one of those brilliant machines! Oh well, at least I have my trusty Nacecare Henry.

The Swing is my most favorite upright from the S7/U1 line. I wished they hadn't discontinued these machines, I prefer them over the bagged canisters. Even though the bagged canisters are technically better.

Nice! I have the Salsa myself but it's in pieces totally. I just need the chassis screws - all of them - to put it back together again. Only Miele upright I could ever get for less than $50. lol They must be good vacuums because people regularly pay over $200 for them on eBay on a constant basis.

I’d agree they are fantastic machines! My go to usually is my Kirby or my Rainbow for cleaning but I feel they both have drawbacks that keep me from using them every day. The Kirby doesn’t have a hose readily available and it’s a process, while be it a easy one, to put the hose on for any type of cleaning that would require it. The Rainbow does have a hose with attachments readily available, cause it’s a canister and that’s just their nature, but the set up and disassembly are also a whole process. They both groom and clean the carpet extremely well which is important to me cause I have a cat. The U1 has attachments and a hose on board and it’s just plug in and go. I had originally bought mine just to use for quick stuff but after seeing how it cleans the carpet I’d say it’s on par with the Kirby and Rainbow but with none of the drawbacks, cause of that it quickly became my daily driver!

So I bought an AutoEco for a Christmas present and it finally arrived! I’ve never had a upright with automatic variable suction before and honestly it’s kinda cool to use! I will say though trying to adjust the suction is a touch more difficult than the non-automatic units, the buttons on the AutoEco feel a little more stiff while the knob on the Jazz is a lot more smooth in my opinion. I wonder if this plus cheaper production cost is what lead to the automatic suction controls discontinuation, that or consumers where just using them on the highest setting anyways so again why add the cost on to production. Honestly I’m kinda sad they don’t make these uprights anymore. They are easily on of the best machines I have ever used! Truly a top tier machine!!

That’s awesome!

My S7 Swing was kind of a Christmas gift to myself as well. I agree with you the +/- buttons are a bit stiff to push but I like having the full range of six suction settings like all other Miele’s have with the classic icons instead of the four suction settings like my S7 Salsa had with written floor types depicting the setting instead of icons like on all other Miele vacuums. People often get confused and think the suction dial actually adjusts the height of the machine. I’m not sure why Miele chose to this but anyway congratulations on your auto eco! I hope it gives you the same pleasure my swing does.

WOW! A Dynamic U1 is a much newer revision than the S7 lineup. Does it have the two rectangular rocker switches or the circle and oval style?

They're both rectangle.

I got a Miele U1 Jazz about 5 years ago through eBay in mint condition at a very good price, Wow, is it heavy. I noticed when I had power all the way up but then turned on the power head the motor would slow down a notch. I did not realize this was a “feature” at the time and sent a note into Miele asking if they would provide a fix. I had the handle with round toggle switch and Miele sent me a handle with the rectangular 2 switches. The power issue never changed, but I find the 2 switch mechanism much more functional. Now I have both handles. The vacuum still running great, but it’s weight caused me to have a dedicated vacuum on each floor.
