Need to get the glass jar for the top from the seller, got this beauty locally. Came with 2 tools and a non original hose, runs great! It was full, and I mean full of dust. So much so that it created a thick fog outside when running. Sadly the cast aluminum does not react well with 0000 steel wool, it only scrapes off the crust(sorta) and leaves a very matte finish. I think its 30s?

Great find! I have a similar, but newer with no glass in lid,Invincible as well as a smaller and a larger Invincible.Visited the newer factory in Ohio years ago.Should have literature somewhere. Is yours lonely and needing a big,or little, brother with it?! |

I found a 1915 Invincible brochure(which I will absolutely post the rest of later today). This is the closest machine to it I can find, and it is substantially different with changed vent holes, no glass jar, fixed front wheel, 3 stage suction system, and handles on the sides. Likely made after 1915 but thats all I know. Switch has a bakelite top.
Rugsucker - I may want the little one!

Very cool machine - hope you get it running full time and can later report on its performance. Pictures of the innards would be cool to see also. What kind of motor does it use? |

Good lord, you're looking to outdo us all! You have gotta be the only person with one of those! That is amazing, it looks like it has bicycle wheels on it.
Things this old I would not even touch, there is risk of doing irreversible damage. I would speak with conservators if they have a safe way to clean something like that. You could try some form of aluminum etch cleaner or stainless steel appliance cleaner, but again, risk of damage so I would be afraid to use it. I can presume this was likely intended to be an office cleaner or something you would hire a cleaning company to use. I guess this company named it right, it surely has been "Invincible". |
