This was one of those machines I would get if I found one at a good price. One turned up for $8 a few weeks ago, so got it. It’s the black and yellow version and appears to be from 2004.

Really like it overall. Two features that I really like are the brush roll shutoff switch for bare floors, or the clutch shuts it off when the handle is upright for attachment use.

Secondly the knob to switch from floor to hose cleaning is a nice feature. It shortens the airflow such that dirt is carried straight from the nozzle to the bag, avoiding going through the hose.

Mine came with the hose and two wands, but missing all three tools. I had the correct upholstery nozzle from. Recent estate sale. I will likely order a crevice tool and horsehair dusting brush from Sanitaire to fit onboard.

Also looking at a manual, these apparently had a dirt sensor and bag check light, at least for some models, something I never knew.

You can also search for “Eureka World Vac dusting brush and crevice tool” - these will fit onboard the Smartvac.

Highly rated by Consumer Reports at the time it was on the market….excellent test score for deep carpet cleaning. And very reasonably priced for the average consumer.

If I ever find a green version for free, I wouldn't mind adding it to my collection.

It’s interesting how in the manual, there’s apparently a version that had a dirt sensor and a bag check light. Never seen one with those features.

I haven’t gotten anything else done with this.
