My friend say it’s from 2005 but I’d say it’s just a prototype model. But you can be the judge. Not my picture it’s my friend’s.

What is with everyone keep thinking they have a prototype model of something? Not even the most longtime collectors on here have prototypes of vacuums.

The Oreck Magnesium series uses a non-linear date format, and it would have been printed on a little sticker attached over the sticker following the "DATE:" on the label. It has fallen off, or the label was never affixed.

Contact Oreck with your serial number and they should be able to give you the date.

"--thinking they have a prototype model of something?

I think I have a prototype of an Electrolux Discovery labeled as a 'Cambridge'.The biggest difference is a foot pedal handle release that was not used on Discovery.I also think I have seen, but do not have, a prototype of the first Elux upright in white color with many features not seen later.

That would happen quite often. The adhesive with the date code sticker often fell off after a little bit of use. You can kind guess it's date ,based on if it's a plastic base or a magnesium base.

If you want to know the real age of the unit, the motors usually have some kind of date on them, although it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Are these LW100 units any good? I trash picked one for my neighbor who is an Oreck fanatic but he returned it to my driveway without explanation. It worked but needed a full cleanup. I put it into my dumpster as I have no want for it. If anyone here local wants to come get it, PM me this week. I doubt anyone will.
