A friend brought to my attention an episode of "The Real McCoys" on YouTube that prominently features an Air-Way upright vacuum cleaner!

I remember watching “The Real McCoys” as a little boy in the early 1960’s, but I don’t remember seeing this episide with a vacuum cleaner. Thanks for posting this!

I do remember being drawn to watch the series by handsome Richard Crenna…what an attractive guy…..🙂

Oh, this was hilarious!

I loved The Real McCoys when I was a kid. I don't remember this episode though, and I had forgotten how funny this series is. Walter Brennan was a gem. In the movie Support Your Local Sheriff, he steals every scene he's in.

The vacuum,

appears at 1:24 in the video. For those of us who may be impatient *smile*.

Interesting too, that the neighbor George McMicheal is played by Andy Clyde, who was a famous actor whose career began in silent films, and the "junk man" is played by Howard Neer (spelling?), who played Floyd the barber in the Andy Griffeth Show!

From 6:51 onwards the vacuum appears again and we get a closer look + a demonstration too.

Wonder if that very Air Way still survives today? At least we know it evaded the metal scrap drives of World War II. It could have been a great advertisement for the longevity of an Air-Way. To me, the uprights are so much more interesting than the canisters that followed. Wonder if disposable bags were even still available for the uprights in 1958 when this episode was filmed?
