Nice little Eureka compact cleaner, OldCrankman! By the cream beige colour of the hose and nozzle, I would date this from the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. The lettering on the top of the canister may look like it came from the 1950’s, the font was used by Eureka Williams only on this round budget vacuum whenever they made them. Just a minor point: it was not marketed as a Prince or Princess - those names were used on canisters that were more “turtle” shaped. But great find all around!!! 👍👍👍👍

Here’s an old Vacuumland thread showing the same model in brown….see link below. I don’t think that person posts messages here anymore….

And here’s another one in kind of dusty rose colour…with an older braided hose (late 1960’s)….it was on Ebay:

It’s certainly a Eureka vacuum that is not the norm. Must have been marketed as a low-end, budget model made for Kmart or some other chain. Eureka must have produced a version with a different colour every year: chocolate brown, salmon pink, mint green. I think yours is more of a minty green. It’s unique because it has that retro 1950’s lettering but it’s not from the 1950’s. Probably a good choice for young singles just starting out in their own apartment, or seniors in small apartments needing something simple and small to fit in the bottom of a closet.
You can certainly find matching cream/beige Eureka Williams attachments to go with it. They are easily found on the internet - even New Old Stock Eureka tools in original packaging from old vacuum stores. |
