I found this 10 amp Fantom Fury on OfferUp; the price seems reasonable and the seller is offering to ship it. The machine was fully taken apart and cleaned, inside and out. However, it doesn't come with any attachments.

I have been after a 10 amp Fury for such a long time now, as it is my dream machine. However, if I do commit myself to buy this one, my #1 rule is to preserve it as a collector's item. Learning from my past mistakes with the 12 amp Fury I had a few years ago, I will NOT use a Fantom as a daily driver in this day and age.

What are your thoughts?

Mike is a wonderful guy, and he does GREAT work. He makes all the T-Shirts for the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention each year in September. AT the Convention last year, he put a new Armature in a 1946 Premier upright. He's very meticulous. I'm proud to call him my friend.

His photos of his restorations on here are also very helpful for people that are doing the same thing and working on a vacuum that can be confusing to take apart.

Sad news...

I checked OfferUp the other day, and unfortunately, Chicagomike has now delisted all of his vacuums for sale, including the 10 amp Fury. This means that I won't be able to buy this Fantom anytime soon.

But if one waits too long they may lose it.

May have pulled them off that site. This doesn't mean he doesn't still have them for sale if you know how to reach him.

Well

That answers the question. The point is if Mike is selling it you won't find a machine in better condition than what he is selling. There is a reason people buy vacuums for $500 plus. Next time buy it.
