I am interested in relieving myself of 90% of my collection.

I am only interested in a buyer coming and taking it off my hands, and I will not ship. I do not have time for that.

I will only be keeping 4-5 vintage machines. I have attached some photos for reference and am happy to provide more detailed information to any serious buyer who would be willing to come and buy the whole group.

The collection is mostly Electrolux with some other machines sprinkled in as well. I also have several hoses, accessories, etc. that would go.

There are some notable machines, which I will NOT separate and sell individually:

-Beautiful turquoise Electrolux Model G with Electrolux’s first stab at a power hose (which still holds suction), and a rare early PN-1 that is uncracked and has neither a clean out port nor reset button. It also has the three row commercial brush roll which is NOS.
-An early and nearly pristine Electrolux 1205 including the original PN-1 with the plastic wand.
-A pre-war Electrolux XXX (with the rare suction adaptor attachment)
-An Electrolux XXX with the disposable bag adaptor
-An Electrolux LXI
-An Electrolux CA, which is the only CA I know of, and the only Electrolux of its era, to have come from the factory with a motor in excess of 535 watts.
-A couple of early Kirby 500 Series machines
-An Electrolux Super J that has seen VERY few hours and is in overall gorgeous condition.

These machines are located in South Central Kentucky. Again, only serious inquiries, I will not separate, and I will not discuss with anyone under the age of 18.

Great vacs!

Picture 2-Is there a Eureka in the storage hassock?
" 3-PN-1 with NO reset is beyond rare.
" 6-The Electrolux B-7 with both 2 speed switch and 3 brushes makes it the best ever hard floor machine!

don't be lazy. you must not really want to get rid of the stuff that badly if you wont ship or ala carte what you have. people wont want what all of what you collect. putting listings up like this is a waste of time.

Although I don't agree with Will's tone, I agree with his message. If you want to move these vacuums, you will need to group each vacuum with all its accessories and sell each vacuum individually on eBay + ship.

Unless you have a large vehicle already - picking up a collection this large in one shot is not possible without a UHAUL van and those charge by the mile. Picking it up in several trips with a sedan is not possible unless your buyer lives within spitting distance of you. Jimmy (rugsucker) has this same selling tactic of "you have to drive to me and pickup" and it does not work. Kentucky is very far away for most of the USA - so you've just limited the collector interest mainly to the deep south of which there are not many. Most of us are in the midwest, the plains, the west coast. This would be a week and a half trip not to mention road wear on our cars, lodging, and the general logistics of a long road trip. The risk and expense to get them would overshoot the value of the collection. That's why you won't have any interest. Furthermore someone looking for only one vacuum would then just inherit the burden of the rest of the lot.

You will have better luck by selling each own peacemeal on eBay w/ shipping. I have seen people pay over $120 for most Electroluxes with their accessories in great condition and guaranteed working. You would likely make more money than selling in bulk.

I wish you luck man, but "must buy all, I will not separate" does not equal a sale in my mind. If you want the profit you gotta put in the effort.

"-same selling tactic-"

huskyvacs,
You miss what I have said more than once.If someone wants a road trip or weekend vacation to a nice part of the country with a chance to see our Sat night car show I do suggest putting the shipping money in the gas tank and come pick and choose. If not am am very willing to use UPS that is 1/2 mile away and have done so more than you know.
Again as I have said I have a full time book store that that does not leave me even 5% of my time for vacs. But when a collector calls 423-268-4841 I try to make any arrangement that works with the collectors needs, budget and my limited time.
"-several trips in a sedan-"-In my time with Electrolux I have seen a manager take 27 Elux in a 78 Cadillac from one branch to another. Also saw a vac dealer remove back seat from a Caprice sedan and load a room full of off brand trade in vacs to resell.
I join in wishing kirbyduh good luck on selling some nice vacs.
Jimmy

PS

Lane is an awesome guy. If anyone has interest in buying from him (like I have) I wouldn’t hesitate.
