. . . after many years I wanted to see what the admiration of Kirby is about, so tonight I purchased a refurbished Sentria II. I didn't want or need all the attachments, so I will have just a carpet-cleaning machine. I look forward to comparing its performance to that of my recently-purchased Sanitaire, and to that of my vintage Royal and Hoover uprights. Should be fun, and informative!

I have already observed one thing that sets the Sanitaire apart: human and cat hair doesn't get all wound around and tangled in its brush roll. I've vacuumed all my rugs several times with it, and the brush roll is nearly clean, with only a stray hair or two wrapped on it. It's nothing like my Royal, E'lux, Tristar, and Miele canisters. I have to clean those brush rolls religiously or they bog down terribly.

It just gets more interesting all the time! When I purchased my Sanitaire I was going to let my Royal go because it's been named as a carpet shredder, but now I will keep it and display it alongside the Kirby and the Hoover. The Sanitaire is now my DD and I am delighted with its cleaning performance.

Nice! Mostly all G series Kirby parts are all interchangeable, even on the Sentria but due to styling differences with the Sentria line, it might look a bit wonky.

My Kirby endured lots of Husky sheddings and dirt cleanup in its time and never faltered.

The Kirby and Royal are likely more similar in their respective aspects.

I got it today!

Oh, what a beast! I intentionally chose a Generation model because it looks so different from other uprights. The Tech Drive is way cool! I tried it out in the living room and one of my cats two rooms over ran away. By far it's my loudest vacuum of any type, but that's OK. They're not using it, I am.

I'm not bothering to post images because it looks like every other Sentria II. The seller did a nice job on the refurb.
