To celebrate Easter and Holy Week as well as my husband’s birthday, I had a mini-meet with a few friends and vacuum collectors to celebrate. Since I actually own a camera as well as a cell phone, I took pictures. Please enjoy. No Hoover hoods were harmed nor turned upside down all weekend.

Adam brought his wonderful Kirby 514.

I know how to bake. No dry cookies or cakes that taste like sawdust. My husband loves a particular chocolate and almond cake from Julia Childs cookbook “mastering the art of French cooking”, which I have.

There is no baking powder used in the cake, just beaten egg whites. It is a moist, delicate, rich, dense chocolate cake. The frosting is made of only butter and chocolate. With a tiny splash of espresso to bring out the chocolate flavor. There’s not one bite left.

Robert brought his model G, and I helped him rebuild the motor. We took it apart down two screws.

Look what was waiting for me at the store. My husband‘s father, my most wonderful father-in-law, found this for me and brought it for our Easter celebration. My collection is now complete.

What a wonderful dinner. Happy Easter everyone. Grilled chicken with a chipotle barbecue sauce, Mexican street corn, Italian pasta salad, delicious coleslaw, homemade yeast rolls (baking is my specialty) along with cake and coffee.

Tom,

I should have an extra Betty Feezor biography if you want it.
I had an older customer who lived in France for a time and went to same church as the Childs.Julia and her husband both worked for OSS (pre CIA).Her well to do father sent them a Buick convertible after WWII that they drove over much of Europe.Julia had a very interesting life even before she could make the perfect omelet.

Thank you Jimmie. I would love to have the biography of Betty. Hans introduced me to her Wonderful recipes. She makes the best spaghetti sauce I’ve ever had.

We did. Thank you so much my beautiful friend. It’s always so much fun having friends over. And, on the positive side I don’t have to vacuum for weeks.

You’re so welcome! I can’t wait to come out again, just finding the time to do so is proving to be more of a challenge.

Cassy, you are welcome any time. I know it's hard for you to make the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention in September, I understand that for someone in your field that's the busiest time of the year.

It's always the third weekend in September at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum. Folks from all over the country will be here. Best of all, people don't have to schlep their entire collections to the convention and then drag them home. There are 600 vintage machines here to play with.

The theme this year for the cleaning contest is Power Nozzle Canisters. Of any vintage. I know someone who will be entering a Lewyt Electronic. I'm sure Reggie will bring his new Electrolux CA with power nozzle. So many different cleaners and so many different owners.

There will be fun and food and comradery but of course there will also be pictures.
No hoover hoods will be harmed nor turned upside down the entire weekend. Best of all, NO pesky 'dues' and 'fees' to attend. I'm not sending money to people I don't know just to go to a party!

This year depending on how I feel I might be able to come… I’m having a MAJOR surgery is at the end of July and I’m not sure how many doctors visits that will entail let alone if I’ll be able to sit in a car for that long. We shall see though!
