1. He's a toxic Dyson fanboy. He supports Dyson like it's a gift from God. I know it's his opinion, but Dyson is nothing more than the Apple of vacuum cleaners. They're overpriced, poorly built, and underperforming. Plus, stick vacuums are for quick clean-ups, not deep-cleaning.

2. He claims that bagless is better than bagged, when in reality, bagless vacuums are a complete joke in terms of filtration and performance.

3. He treats superior vacuums like the SEBO Felix, the Kirby, (even though they have a terrible reputation for their door-to-door tactics) the Henry, and central vacuum systems like they're complete garbage.

4. His tests are extremely misleading. He makes Performance Reviews look like VacLab or Vacuum Wars.

5. His whole channel is just made to praise Dyson V10/V11. Also trying to show that everyone else is wrong. But the worst thing is that he attacks straight against other YouTube channels doing vacuum videos.

Was this thread really necessary?

This forum is about discussing, helping, or sharing to others about vacuum cleaners. Not to bash on somebody based on their beliefs or testing. I don't see any reason why this has to be brought up here. Not to mention that we've already got another thread or two talking about the same user. My advice here is if you don't like or agree with somebody about a certain machine, just ignore or walk away. Honestly if I was the moderator here, I'd delete this thread.

Seconding the above. If you do not like him - move on. Ignore his page. That's all you have to do. Don't contribute clicks to his ad revenue.

This person was talked about here many times over the years, he has sent death threats to some collectors that dared challenge him as I have heard or abused the copyright system to false-flag their videos to get their accounts banned. He does not need to have attention called to him. It's best to forget about him and hope he gets therapy or just gets off the internet.

This is a collector's forum, not a mafia hideout. People that come here to enjoy vacuums don't want to read stuff like this. There's only 4 collectors forums for vacuums on the internet for people to go to - let's not lose this one.

Agreed, I've seen him talked about too much. Kinda pointless now. What are the other 3 sites?

Manchester Vacs (mostly where all the UK collectors gather)

r/vacuumcleaners on reddit (not exactly full of experts or any cohesive statements)

and just YouTube comment sections on other people's vacuum videos of their collections, or TV commercials of so and so vacuum that get posted.

If there's any vacuum fan groups on facebook, instagram, other socials - I'm not aware of those or know of any.

You’ll be pleased to know that literally none of the UK collectors have any time or respect for him and he’s not on either of the 2 big UK groups on Facebook.

Fairly quiet Discord forum. Buyer info and discussions and performance reviews and house of vacs participation.

I agree with ajr2993

I cannot stand johnnyl8.

One of the most patronising, know-it-alls I have ever come across! He cannot accept that Dyson have their pitfalls and are not excellent.

He reminds me very much of a Dyson employee who I work with sometimes in a department store who defends the brand to the hilt!

We all have our preferences and I absolutely love the LG brand as a washing machine, but accept that their washing machines are not perfect and accept that.
