While robot and stick vacuums are extremely popular with the millennial demographic and making full-size uprights, canisters, and central vacuum systems obsolete, both tend to not deep-clean as well as full-size vacuums, especially uprights and central vacuum systems. Stick vacuums tend to be excellent for quick clean ups, but not for deep-cleaning carpets. I get that most homes now have hardwood flooring, but I'd rather have a canister vacuum with no rotating brushroll than a stick vacuum with a rotating brushroll that's going to scatter debris. Robot vacuums are decent, but they need improvement.

To me robot vacuums and stick vacuums are aids to cleaning, but not necessarily a replacement for a full size cleaner. Many consumers probably don’t see it they way though.
