Don't Google it just guess.

I'm going to recreate it right down to the logo.

What movie?

I haven't a clue, but I like it. Generally I'm interested in vintage Electrolux, and Kirby, but this one caught my eye. Thanks for sharing.

For those who don't know, Caligula was the cat in my Avatar.

1997's GATTACA

The prop master took an old Compact Electra down to bare aluminum and gave it a very high polish.  The logo on the side is Revelation is very relevant to this particular scene of the movie.  I thought this little detail was pretty cool, and stuck with me for the past 25 years.

I'm not a vacuum collector, but when I saw this vacuum in the movie I liked it's retro look, and actually tried to find out who made the vacuum cleaner.   I had no idea until I joined this forum late last year what it was.

I've bought several of these vacuums over the last few months, I do have one that is in very rough cosmetic condition and has a broken logo.  So I think I'm going to strip it down and polish it up,  and then 3D print the logo Revelation for the side (just need to figure out the exact font, Please let me know if you know)

If you haven't seen the movie GATTACA it's a great movie and well worth a watch.

Seriously, if anyone can tell me what font that is I'd really appreciate it.

Actually, it’s not aluminum….it’s Magnalite

And I’m frankly, I doubt if it polished up that well and needed a little help from Krylon or Rustoleum. I’m still toying with the idea of having mine powder coated in a high gloss.

I'll let you know how my experiment goes.  But I'm going to try.  I saw one Compact that was stipped and given a fairly high shine, not as good as that one, but still good (you could see swirl marks).  I have the equipment that I think I can replicate it.  It will probably take a lot of work, but I think it can be done.  There are examples of magnalite cookware that is pretty shiny.

Still, I'd like to know the font on the side of the vacuum.

I also have an oven in my shop that I do firearm and autopart powder coating.  But I'd like to see if I could achieve that look without that.  If all else fails I could plate it in nickel silver, I have the equipment for that as well.

If I plate it in silver, it has antimicrobial properties, which might be kind of cool for a vacuum.

I’ll probably figure out what to do with mine based on your results. Powder coat technology has come a long way with colors and finishes. I look forward to seeing your finished piece.

Revelation

The Revelation was a version of the Compact sold in stores instead of salesmen. The movie prop may have been based on one of those units. There is a Revelation nameplate on eBay right now if you want to swap it onto your machine.

Thank YOU!

I swear I searched for Revelation Vacuum Cleaner back in the '00s and never could find a reference to the machine.  It was a half-hearted search, just because I like the look of that machine.

I just assumed it was a movie prop creation or modification.  Then I came here and found out about TriStar Vacuum cleaners.   Now I've found threads about the Revelation Vacuum Cleaner you've mentioned.

Cool Beans ...I have two Revelation name plates hand!

@Vacuumman thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, and for putting me onto those name plates!

Did they ever sell Revelation or Compacts with a polished metal body? It looks so cool.

Here's my Revelation model C-2. It was a gift from my good friend and fellow collector Norm Brown when he was downsizing his collection. Thanks again, Norm!

Is that a replacement label? The ones I have are metal, like the vacuum in the first picture.

I also have an older version that I'm going to use. It has a rounded flat lid, and the hose sticks inside the top.

No, the label is original to my knowledge. And everything you see in the pic is original to it except the dust brush, which is a replacement.
