The Vacuum Museum made the newspapers again. We will all get to meet and see the reporter who wrote the story at the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention in September. He took 41 photos, all of which were used in the story.

We've had a good number of people call and make an appointment to see the Museum since the story came out last week. I'm more than happy to share the machines and their stories with anyone.

Not trying to start anything. I’ve kept out of this feud and will continue to for a very long time. However, the article links out to the Vacuum Cleaner Collector’s club website. Just wanted to point out these are two separate entities with two different conventions. The writer of the article was probably confused.

Oh yes Kenny, the writer had trouble differentiating the VCCC with the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention. I'm sorry anyone would bother the VCCC thinking it was my convention, which of course is FREE and completely not associated in ANY way with those people.

The next time I'm interviewed for a newspaper (which happens ALL the time), I'll be sure to say we are in NO WAY connected to the VCCC.

Thanks Jeff:

I always try to get publicity behind the vacuum collecting hobby. I'm out there every day talking about what all of us consider so much fun. It's just a delight that so many others think the old sweepers are fascinating.

After the Riverfront Times article, I've had at least 20 people call to schedule a visit to the Museum. Many said they thought they were the only ones in the world who liked vacuums. I feel that if I can make them feel good about their interest in vintage sweepers, and share my knowledge and machines with them, it will go a long way towards making someone else feel good about themselves. And that's all I want at the end of the day.

have them try the zapper

Tom, the best vacuum to let them try is the zapper, lol, and if they're lucky, they might get to experience what a lot of users experienced back when that machine was being made. Seriously, do you let anyone try that machine or do you think it's too risky?

Hey Mike

I often use the Lewyt Electronic ("the zapper") to vacuum with, but to get the full 'shocking' experience, you would have to be barefoot and you would have to be touching a ground so the rectifier can fail and send 120 volts right through your body.
