My friend Robert recently lost his long-time partner. Even though I'm a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, I decided to decorate my house for Christmas as my friend is going to spend the Holidays with us. Christmas Cheer and all that ho ho ho. My friend Adam offered to decorate and help clean, so he came for the weekend as well.

First off, Adam running the Aura CleanMAX. Doing the dusting and cleaning along the edges.

Before we did the decorating, Adam stopped by the Vacuum Museum to bring a very rare gift. I already have a brand new Heritage 1 with the original nozzle. Adam gave me a new 12 inch nozzle for it, which was something only very few people knew about at the time.

You'll notice the headlight cover doesn't go down all the way because Kirby used the same nozzle casting as the Dual 80.

We took a break to eat. I made the most awesome Turkey cheeseburgers (my husband doesn't eat beef). Adam made his mama's chicken dressing. We also had roasted veggies. So good.

I put the finishing touch on the house, my blow-up Grinch. Because my heart is really three times too small.

Tom, everything in all the pictures looks beautiful. And no your heart is not 3 sizes too small, with all you are doing for Robert and what you do for others, the Grinch is 3 sizes too big. What you and Adam are doing for Robert is so nice, he has some fantastic friends.

I like to go all out on the front door.

After I finish this and the 12’ tree, I’ve usually had enough! I’ll do garland on the mantle if I find time. I took this picture at night with some up lighting.

for your kind words. It was a very sudden passing. Robert and his partner had been together more than 20 years. It will forever ruin Thanksgiving for Robert as that was the terrible day for him.

And that's why I decided to have him over for the weekend so he didn't have to be alone. I invited Adam because of his boundless energy. Just getting the decorations down is a chore. Much less putting them all up.

And that's why Robert is staying with us for the Christmas week. Robert is an excellent cook so there will be MUCH baking, baking, baking. Since the time hasn't happened yet - "Pictures will be forthcoming". And I have more than one camera.

My friend Richard Long (we call him Dick) gave me the recipe for his Nuthouse Christmas Balls. A small scoop is important.

Dozens and Dozens of Christmas Nuthouse Balls. I think I'll make some tea while they're in the oven.
