Walked Away From Another One

Lately I have been struggling to bring my vacuum addiction (vacuholism) under control after an insane year of acquisitions that culminated a few weeks ago with getting two Kirbys, a G6 2001 Limited Edition and a Heritage 84, in the same week. Since then, I struggled to walk away from a Kirby Sentria for $10 that needed some serious--but doable--TLC and today I was faced with a similar struggle over a Eureka upright.

It appeared to be a base model from 1992, if I read the serial number correctly It was white with a teal motor cover and white perforated vinyl bag. It appeared to be in good shape and ran great when I fired it up although the bag didn't inflate as much as I would have expected. The only other issue I noticed was a broken belt. It had a 5 amp motor, no headlight, a simple Dial-A-Nap height adjuster knob and a plastic handle. They wanted $15 for it and I could have gotten it for $13.50 with my 10 percent educator discount. It looked to be in decent shape and while I struggled mightily over it, but tempted as I was, I finally decided to walk away and let my self-imposed moratorium on further 'vacquisitions' stand.

I feel good about having withstood the temptation twice now, although I am very much aware a 'slip' could occur at any time. I just have to stay strong and keep telling myself I've got enough vacuums.

Checkrate/Likes You could always buy them, fix them up, and then sell them for a profit. I sell vacuum cleaners almost every day of my life. If you don't have a store-front, you could always sell them locally through facebook marketplace.

Checkrate/Likes Yeah I said the same thing months ago. I do the same thing too, to fund parts runs for my vacuums I keep. It's a self-sustaining hobby.
