I found a Filter Queen 200 today at an estate sale with Chad. The boxes are in poor condition. At least they are still with the vacuum. The hose still has good suction. It’s funny how some cloth hoses still have good suction while others do not. It probably depends on the environment. The vacs were in a basement.
The Wizard is most definitely an Apex. The 1060 has seen better days. But will be good for parts. I’m happy I found the Filter Queen. It is probably the first time it’s been turned on in 30 years. It looks like the Filter Queen did not come with a dolly and it’s not pictured in the manual. I’m assuming the dolly was added later on. |

That filter Queen is absolutely gorgeous!! I agree, it’s probably an earlier 200 due to the lack of the wheels. Could you please post a video of it running on YouTube? I can’t wait to see more pictures of it! I kinda feel sorry for the 1060 though. That poor thing has definitely seen better days. I wonder how it got to be in that condition. Maybe the heat from the headlight bulb broke the lens? That wizard looks like it’ll be a lot of fun too. Lots of luck with all three!

Thanks guys! I will try and get a Youtube video posted later on. I have no doubt the FQ is all original. I couldn't leave it behind especially for two dollars.
After going to estate sales for over ten years and finding vintage vacs. I've found most men repaired vacuums with hardware that were not always correct. I have another nicer 1060 in my collection that I purchased from Alex on eBay. I will probably keep this one to use. The diving board bag holder made the handle weaker on the models that used them. The handle probably broke at some point and the owner reinforced it with metal and clamps. The basement had lots of tools and the owner was probably a mechanic of some kind. The only thing the 1060 needs now is a cleanup and headlight lens. I’ll probably find a lens eventually. This post was last edited 11/01/2021 at 10:46 |

What a wonderful model 200. And so complete and original. Congratulations. I have a feeling your FQ was made after the war, as it has a different owners manual than the one I have which was dated 1939. There was an optional dolly after the war, as well as an attachment 'shoe bag' holder. I never managed to find the tool holder but I did find the optional dolly. When mine was new in '39, these items were not available.
