My friend John Long was working in town today, so we decided to get together for pizza at my house. My father really enjoyed having him join us for dinner tonight. I recently picked up a Hoover u4007 I really didn't need so I gave it to John, who was so helpful during my recovery from recent surgery. This Convertible has a sales/service sticker from the late Betty Fritz. I understand she was a huge Hoover dealer in the area.

It was good to get together, being that the campus I taught in today is only about 3 miles from you. You dad is always very nice to me.
And, thanks, again, for the Convertible. Now I have 2 cleaners from "Betty Fritz'. It will be added to 'the collection'. It runs very well.

Could use some nice lemon cake for dessert to go with that lovely lemon "Hoovrah" :)

Dessert was actually,

Snickerdoodles, made by Joe, and potato Chip cookies, and, the 'infamous pepper cookies'. I promised them to my students and took the rest to Joe and his father.
Everyone really enjoyed them. Sunday, I'll make Irish sodabread 'scones'.
Plates ready???

What a lovely Hoover. For some reason I know the name Betty Fritz. But I can't remember the story. I'm sure someone will refresh my memory. In any event, Mini Meets are very nice to have.

Joe and I will meet in Wilkes-Barre this Friday

for a bite to eat. I'll drive him past Betty's old place while we're there.
There was also "Gnall Jones" sales and service in Wilkes-Barre. Bother were great, and, sadly, have passed away. Their stores have been turned into apartment rentals.Mr. Jones would always drop off bags, etc. to my house on his way home.

It is, indeed.

I think I now have 4 or 5 of them. Hoover made 4 Convertibles with the floral bag print: "Flower Power". Great machines, indeed. They certainly were made to last. I have a pic of all 4 models in an Easter thread.
