I'm not much into canisters or hand vacs, but a very nice fellow collector sent me these two guys for free as he was doing some cleaning (along a TON of BEAUTIFUL old adverts from magazines for Lewyt, GE, and Eureka)... he wouldn't even let me pay for shipping!

First one is a Singer straight suction hand vac. Considering its apparent age, it is in really good shape. It has some chips in the paint... but other than that seems really nice. I loooooove the look and feel of the toggle switch!

Of course Jasper is sitting in the background thinking, "Oh boy, not ANOTHER one of those silly suck things."

the other one

Is an Apex. Now this is just pain elegant and looks brand new (I loved burgandy/maroon (and chrome, what a combo) vacuums... that's why the G5 is my favorite Kirby).

The guy who gave these to me said that it has a belt on it, but that it is impossible to get belts for this model as it is so old and not common... I imagine it will just be a conversation piece to look at and I will not use it.

talk about coinkydinks. I was at the flea market this morning and one of the sellers I chat with all the time pulled one of those singers out of a box of stuff he'd just brought in. I didn't buy it though. what year are they?

The Apex was also badged under the name "Little Wonder." Stan Kann has one of those, and he jokes about it, "It's a Little Wonder alright - it's a wonder that it picks up anything!"
