Stopped at the Goodwill in Mundelein, in among the vacuums is a Kirby Sanitronic 50 with the Kirby logo that lights up in the headlight hood for $9.99 and I'm thinking Darn I already have one of those. So I left it there.

And yet I get broken Hoover Elites and Bissells here. You could probably make some money on the Kirby depending on how much is original.

Congratulations on being strong and resisting temptation. I don't know that I would have been able to.

At that price I would have snapped it up anyway. I don't think you'd have any problem finding someone who's looking for a D-50.

Ray,

You still could have gotten that D50 for that price, that way you can have a second one in case the one you have already needs repair.

I'm tired of picking up stuff for other people and getting stuck with the item because

It's the wrong color
It has a scratch
It's not perfect
It doesn't have the attachments with it

I have turned down so many vacuums years ago at the goodwill I frequented. At least a half dozen eureka box top and cord winder models. Hoover 6x series machines. Electrolux and swivel tops and such just because I was either like... Ehh not my style or I have one similar. Some I regret not getting.

I once bought 1 of two hoover 63s sitting there because one had a jammed zipper on its original bag and said eh not worth it right now for $5.
