Hello, my model G's switch is extremely hard to turn off. When I received the machine the switch paddle was broken. I think something was dropped on it and bent something in the switch proper. I would really like to install a switch that works correctly. Thanks for any help.

Perhaps…

Check eBay and also the switch for this model can be cleaned and rebuilt….it’s actually a very sturdy switch. Sounds like you need the rocker cover wihich is different than the actual switch itself.

Aerus has stopped making the switches but generic vacuum stores may have a generic version. I know generic versions exist as my AF has one in it.

Cleaned and rebuilt by whom?

Who does this? I hadn't heard of anyone providing this service. You've given me food for thought though - tomorrow I'll try my AE's rocker on the G's switch and see if that alleviates the problem. I think the switch is bent somewhere though, because of the damage to the rocker. Everything works fine as long as the screws are loose (the handle's screws, not mine.) When I tighten them up to normal tightness, the problem occurs.

I have an open search on eBay. These used to pop up quite regularly, but I've had this search open for months and nothing has come up. It will eventually. Thanks for your input.

Found one

One showed up on eBay this week, and I grabbed it. It wasn't the switch rocker that was my problem; the replacement rocker didn't improve matters. The replacement switch is working perfectly, and my G is now 100% functional.

Thanks for the replies. I no longer need a switch, but I don't see how to remove a post for a FS item that's no longer available or a WTB item that's no longer needed.

Joel
