Was the Hoover Spirit canister meant to replace models such as Portable and Slimline? Since I believe it was introduced around the time those models were discontinued. IIRC the Slimline and Portable were discontinued around 1981 or 82, I believe the Spirit came out in 82.

Was the Dimension series of canisters meant to replace the Celebrity QS canisters with the Quadraflex power nozzle? There seems to be some overlap in production. As I believe the Dimension series came out in 1983 or 84, while the Quadraflex Celebrity was made up until 1986 I believe.

Was the green Celebrity QS made at the same time as the gray Celebrity QS with 2 speed power nozzle, or did the gray model replace it?

i can say for sure and for certain that was never the case. the last hoover slimline model was the s3033 which started production in 1975. both the slimline and portable were discontinued in 1977. the connie in 1975. there wouldve been no product overlap at all. the celebrities replaced all 3 models at the time.

the QS celebrity didnt come out until 1982. the spirit wouldve been a new class of canister, something hoover portable ish, but not to replace no.

I was wrong then. Somewhere on here in a thread about the Slimline said they still saw them at Airway stores up until 1982. Another thread says Portable was made up until around 1980.

I wish there was a production timeline somewhere from the Hoover vault, but I'm sure any info has long since been disposed of, unless somebody happens to have all of this stored away?
