I have both these machines and haven't really tested out the cleaning performance side by side until lately. I dragged the rainbow out of the closet just to use it and cleaned right after using the D4. I noticed the Rainbow has very dirty water and a good amount of pet hair and grit in the basin. I was EXTREMELY surprised by this. The D4 also has only had 2 bagged filled and the current back was completely empty. The D4 was also at max suction.

The only thing I can think of, which has bugged me, is that the D4 PN doesn't spin fast enough to vibrate the dirt out of the carpet?? What's is everyone's opinion on the ET1 power head?

I as well feel that the Sebo power nozzle doesn't spin fast enough to my liking. It's somewhat disappointing to use.

I talked to my dealer and they will send me a softer brush to see if that changes anything. They offered it for free but I don't know of that will make a difference. Thoughts?

If the brush roll is with the green brushes then it won’t clean as good as the one with the blue brushes one. The green one is a lot softer then the blue one it’s meant for if you are using it on hard floor or your machine is hard to push on the carpet.

I have the blue one now. Is there anything that can be done? I like the machine but just feel the PN is slow/underpowered.

I have used Sebo ET-1 a lot and even done extensive testing.
It actually cleans very well.

Mike. What would you think my problem is? Not lowering the PN enough?

I would try different height settings.
I have found that high as three is the optimal setting on my medium pile carpet. On low pile carpet two gives the best agitation.

Ok thanks. I had been using 4 and 3. 3 might be okay but my carpet has a lot of wear and it's matted down pretty good in one spot.

I would say the Sebo ET1 is superior.

The thing is with a rainbow you can see the dirt and that makes you automatically think that it's better. Open up your Sebo bag and take a look inside. Yuck!

@compuvac oh yea for sure the rainbow might make it look like you picked up more dirt but if I vacuum after I use the Sebo I get A LOT of dirt back.

Have you adjusted the height control on your ET1 properly?

I was doing just by the instructions. Which if I remember correctly is just to adjust the brush down to when the red light cuts off. We'll for mine even with low-low/medium pile carpeting can be on 4. That's why I say if I set it too low ita almost as if it's underpowered and not able to spin as fast as my rainbow power head. I normally run on 4 or 3 but it seems that I should be running on 2 from what the ppl here say.

I think the red light comes on when it's too high or when something is blocking the brush from spinning.

Try this

Get some salt put just a little bit in-front of the ET-1. Put it on the highest setting and keep lowering it until you can see the salt jumping. That's how you know when you hit the right height.
