Hi there! I have a Eureka Mega Boss victory (my dream vacuum) that I inherited a few months ago. It's never given me trouble until now. When I was vacuuming with it just now, I heard some squealing noise coming from it. I changed the belt, which helped some, but it still didn't go away. When I got the cleaner, I submerged the brush roll in water to clean it, and the motor sounds fine. I took the ends off of the brush roll, and saw some rust on the inside. Am I correct in assuming that I need to replace the brush roll?
Thanks,
Thatwasherguy.

You can sand or use steel wool to get off the rust. If you showed a pic it would help.

Sounds like the brushroll bearings are shot. I’d definitely replace it.

Yea you gonna need a new brushroll. That original brushroll is pretty much on its way out.

Rust are starting to affect the bearing and ease of operation of the brush roll might as well repalce it allong whit the belt and bearing assembly .
