Does anyone know why it says "Premier Signature"? It looks like a regular Premier Swiveltop to me. Also is the hose original? To me it looks older than the canister. I thought it would have a vinyl hose.

The name

It's probably to help boost sales. I am only guessing. When this was released the premier brand is well past it's glory days.

I do not believe that's the original hose. I have that same exact one fan Premier but without the word Signature. It has a vinyl hose. By the time Premier took over for GE in 1972, Vinyl hoses were the norm.

Maybe this was a model created by Premier for Montgomery Wards? "Signature" was the retailer's store brand name for vacuums and other appliances.

I would think, if it was sold by Montgomery Wards it would say "Wards Signature" instead of the actual manufacturer. Plus I think usually Eureka made Montgomery Ward's private label vacuums.

GE didn't typically do that, although I know they made a version labeled Wizard Citation Swivel Top for the Western Auto store chain.

Yes

Eureka did make most m. Ward vacuums. Eureka made parts for a lot of machines. Montgomery Ward has a royal hand vacuum. I do know there is a couple uprights not made by eureka.

Shagmaster not Signature

Hey all, I took a closer look and it appears the seller was actually wrong in calling this a "Premier Signature". Looking closely at the script logo, it actually says "Premier Shagmaster" !!

What an odd name for a straight suction canister. But I guess it is very 70s sounding for sure!
