I love my Hide A Hose. But, the downfall is the dirt sits in the hide a hose pipe run. The outside of the hose gets very dirty, which falls off the hose onto your floors and rugs. The other downfall is the loss of airflow through such a long pipe run and hose (I have the 60 foot hose). I use my electra valves and electric hose for the electric power nozzle. I use the Perfect battery power nozzle with the Hide A Hose.

What is the diameter of the hide a hose compared to the more widely known plug into the wall jack hoses? | ||

I am going to sell almost all my vacuums. I want a filtex central vac. I want a hose a hose with electrical currents built into hose location. I'd wand wessell werk and lindhaus on two of the outlets. I'd want 5 ports. 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs and the last in the garage.
We have a. Indoor dog a lab and she sheds. She is getting old and may go to the other side of the rainbow. This would make the floors more manageable. I have seen a filtex but I bought a rare Kirby,parts for a rare Kirby and an eureka cordaway. I would have brought it already. I wired our entire basement. 5 room 1 full kitchen, full bath, big living open lounge area. I did the plumbing for entire basement. I did hvac ducts supply and return. I did everything but only drywalled 2 rooms. I paid a dollar a square foot for 1300 sft. The drywaller did our main floor drywall and was too notch. I wired a 50 amp 220 v hot tub. I wired from the breaker box to outside junction box. I wired from there to the hot tub. I've installed about 15 fans. I did all the trim doors , closets. Had cabinets and countertops done for us. I'm also into my second year of plumbing. I know I have the skill to install any central vac I want. I need to sell a whole bunch of vacuums and stop hording projects. I have 5 royal metal uprights polished and ready for ebay. I have my patriot, royal commercial backpack vacuum, about 5 sharks ready to sale locally. I have 3 sentrias and 2 g6s that metal needs polished. Two need fan housing cleaned up and then there for sale. I have a few more Kirby's, eureka maybe a compact or TriStar, a simplicity and a riccar. Then I'll just focus on selling a 505 or similar machines. It's a goal I hope it happens. Les | ||

I know 6 people personally, who have central vac in their 
homes. 2 of them had it in the house when they bought it. 1 never uses it, but, it's there. It was also said the add to the home's value. or not. kinda like having a pool. Years ago, I contemplated having a Hoover unit installed. I looked on the website. Of course, it's no longer available.
I appreciate them. And, I enjoyed that video presentation. But, with literally hundreds of cleaners, I don't need one. I practically already have it. I'd also not want to hack into this old place with pipes, etc. But, that "hide a hose" makes sense. Great video. | ||

@vacuumdevil What’s your opinion on the Doc-It hose setup by Canavac? It’s the only one I’ve seen that has electric connections for a power nozzle and the retracting mechanisms looks to work very well. Is Canavac sold in the states, or is there a U.S. counterpart with a different name? | ||

Direct air power heads for central vacuums. Mikanik, a long long time ago they had a Eureka direct air vacuum set up as a power nozzle with a wand in place of a handle. I believe it was on an AirWay? If not someone correct me please. | ||

The "Volt" power nozzle from Vacuflo IS a direct air, fan first power nozzle for the central vac. I have one Along with the Perfect battery power nozzle I use with the Hide A Hose. I'm proud to say my house is extremely 'wired' for central vac, much more so than it needs. In fact, Central Vacuums are the theme of the upcoming Vaccuum Cleaner Collectors Convention (I actually do know how to spell Vacuum).
