I've wondered about this machine since I've only seen these at sears once in like 2005 or so and never saw it again. My only guess is these LP2s were a failure at launch since you barely seen them anywhere so I was wondering if you ever use one or have one?

I remember those!

Those were competitors to the Hoover V2 which came out eariler with two brushrolls. My understanding is the V2 was very unreliable and Hoover took them off the market farily quickly. Those later became the Hoover Savvy, which had only one brush roll. I've nenver seen a V2 in working condidtion myself, but working Savvys do appear every so often. I do remember seeing those Kenmores at Sears briefly when new, but I've never seen one in the wild. My guess is most of the suffered the unforuncate same fate as the Hoover V2.

They were also made under the Panasonic name. I sold them in my store.

Talk about some serious grooming action. That is it.

I can imagine belts and the gears to operate both agitators failing from all the additional stress.

Wonder how the carpet manufactures felt about that machine. As some wont warranty carpet if you use a Dyson due to the very stiff brush tufts.

I own the Panasonic equivalent

Called the Dual Sweep. This model had a few variants, but the brush setup underneath looks very similar to that Kenmore. It's actually a great cleaner, and cleans quite well. The dual-agitator setup on the Panasonic was better made than the setup Hoover used on the V2 uprights back in the day. It also had a long life belt. A little over-engineered, but overall a nice vacuum, and pretty fun to use (very easy to push, grooms nicely, etc.).

I always wanted to get those Dual Sweep and I definitely agree they're better then the V2/Dual V.

could those hoses get in the way and possibly be damaged? They seem to stick out. I was almost gonna say "bulging hose", but... that could go the wrong way. So, I didn't say it. lol

I remember seeing those models at Sears back in the day and I thought to myself I don't need that trouble

The dual sweep makes me think of the TV Show Lost In Space and the futuristic ideas that were on that show. The robot comes to mind.
