First, I don't want to ruing my threads about my trip to North Canton or the newsletter.
I've requested a private message to discuss a few topics that have rattled another member. Airing dirty laundry in here isn't the place. It involves slams about silly things like cookies (dry) tea, glass houses, mental asylums.. ovens and Germany I'm sorry anyone had to see any of that. It's distasteful, mean, and nasty. I try to stay on topic. Thanks, |

For the record, here is the dull axe I’ve been holding onto for two years, and now grinding. I could continue going back before this, and going since this post, and I could dredge of a full blown menagerie of examples to prove my point. You think it’s real cute going around making these comments and pretending they’re completely innocent and never said a word to be taken in such a manner. I don’t know how you think it looks, I’m sure someone who regularly concurs finds it cute and clever, but really it just makes you look like the giant F. C. that we said you are!

"And, for your records, there are 4 people of interest.
That post was removed before I could see it. But,I'm told it was quite something.A 33 year old man should maybe know not to post something like that in a public forum. But, there will be no contest with me." Why? The things I am upset about are things you have openly done and said RIGHT HERE on THIS WEBSITE. So you can go around, digging at people, but when people get fed up with it, they aren't allowed to call you out on it?? |

Please don't call me anything. I'm finished with you. I said what I needed to say. I will not engage in any more of this. Live your life, enjoy your vacuums, your friends, and I'll enjoy mine. I hope you remember fun times at my home. I will listen to no more about me, including likening me to a guard outside showers in Germany. quotes by you, or your associates.
Peace to you, Mr. Gravelin. And, goodbye. |

And this is the whole point on that ax I’m grinding, you are a prolific stoker of dumpster fires. What finished me off is the way you’ve been attacking Sam. Shockingly, the person you think is at the center of this is solely a spectator. YOU are the one who has been instigating things. YOU are the one who was at the center of the letters sent about Tom, YOU are the one who keeps putting these smarmy attacks in your posts. You post your attacks on here, and then you want me to message you privately about it?? You can say what you want on here antagonizing people you don’t like, yet it’s not to be discussed when people are tired of it? You brought this all on yourself by your behavior big in and off the forum.

I dated a guy once who took being passive aggressive to new heights. Ever since I have zero patience with it.

You'd always post interesting things.
You can see the firestorm, that was not intended. But, it seems everything I say or do gets scrutinized and attacked. It's all so unfortunate. Seems I've become "Public Enemy #1" with Tom A. as #2. It's OK, though. Some just keep at it. What do they really want? Back and forth... how long do they want to do that? I've lost some friends... were they that close, really, then? So, it was 'mission accomplished' on their part. I'm not sure what they really want from me, but.. And, if they cared to take anything to private email to keep the mess out of here... I'd say. "OK, here's you r chance... get this all out of your systems,,insult, ridicule, etc, all you want". But, Alex, you've been appreciated, etc. I hope to talk to you soon. |

If someone blocks you, then just drop it and move on with your life. Get over it and just leave, walk away. Forget they exist.
@Caligula This doesn't happen all the time. Just every few months. I just bought a subscription to the site as well, and it doesn't bother me. Every club has miscreants and troublemakers no matter what it is. |

Please take this thread down. If you don’t, it will only get worse. It literally has nothing to do with “vintage vacuums” and has this cause enough issues between other members. Instead of looking on to other new posts, this thread keeps getting more and more attention from rubberneckers instead of paying attention to relative posts in the forum. I realize that I am no better, but for the love of vacuum collecting, please delete this from our website’s history.
I would hope the the webmaster reads this and responds in a timely matter as this has gone way too far. |

I'm just a bit disappointed that we aren't really getting quality threads around here too much. When I first started on this site, which was pretty recent, I was seeing threads on this type of vacuum and that, and many replies. I also saw threads that started with a question or excitement, and answered the title when you would go into the thread. Those were fun to read, I miss them. I can try to start doing that type of thing, but I can't guarantee the quality of the post. I've been focusing on exploring new vacuums recently, and have wanted to make threads on it, but I fear that everybody will be bantering on these types of threads and my thread won't get any replies, or anybody seeing them.
I've started to make videos to go along with future VL posts, so that'll be interesting. I feel that I shouldn't post more than once a week, but I think that more posts would be better for everybody to participate. All of this is just making me sad now. Anybody reading this, when I post, even if you don't like the cleaner or subject, could you just be fake for me and say "that's cool!" or maybe "hope you enjoyed that" for me? It'd make me much happier. I get quite excited when people reply to my threads and I love to see what people think. When it comes to the point of this post, I really don't appreciate the general hate going on in the world. It seems that the last time the world was happy was in the 70's! and I wasn't even born close to then. I just really hope that this type of argument doesn't become verbal during the nearest V.C.C.C. Regards, Garrett Thompson |

Welcome to Vacuumland and I hope you are taking full advantage of Archive Searches and the various forums. There is a lot to offer here.
This thread is a rarity and not a commonality here. Hundreds if not thousands of collectors over time have posted in this forum over the years spreading their knowledge and sharing their vacuum collection passion with all. This thread is rare and not what VacuumLand should be taken for. I feel you should post as much as frequently as you like to the appropriate topic area based on the kind of vacuum you have. We look forward to it. I haven't been on this near as much as I was in the beginning when I first realized that vacuum collecting was "A Thing" and that was back around 2012. My aggressive work schedule and managing some Facebook vac groups make it hard for me to get over here but I still pop in on occasion. I like the FaceBook arena a lot as it is people posting daily with what they used that day and I watch their videos. Alex Taber, I wish the same for you. Stay with the group and continue to post and share your vacuum collecting passion. The viciousness should vanish. Have a great weekend everyone! |

Nah don't worry about it Rett. People's vacuum posts usually are always positive. Whatever is happening in this thread is personal between 2 or 3 members from something that happened off the website in their own homes and has nothing to do with Vacuumland as a whole.
There is a lot of members on this site, and there has been a lot of new members born in the late 90s and early 2000's joining which is a great sign for the website, and it gives diversity in interest topics as well. So for every someone that doesn't like that particular vacuum there might be a handful of other people that do. |

Rest assured I'm not going anywhere, but if I renew next year is still a guess. I've seen more drama with both the VCCC and Vacuumland than you can shake a stick at. I go with the username Caligula because he was the mascot for the VCCC. Caligula in Latin means little boots, I named him that for the gold fur on his paws.
While there have always been hissy fits, name calling, insults, and so on, it should NOT be a part of this group. It saddens me when I see my friend John Long treated with this type of disrespect. The work he has done over the years is truly amazing. He has done an outstanding job resurrecting the Newsletter, and I know the work involved. So I hope we can get this derailed train back on track and stop this madness. The focal point should be our love of the vacuum cleaner, not the bickering and backstabbing. |

This thread is on the main forum of this website. It's not what I want to read or see when I log on.
There is substance behind everything but this thread is not about vintage vacuums. If you wonder why quality and content have declined this thread is a great example. I want to talk about vacuums. If the moderators read this (my posts are probably the most "moderated" person on the forum) this is not what people want to see on this website period. Les |
