Their website is still up but they only have a couple products, and no vacuums.

I have no idea.

I didn't even realise Oreck stopped selling in the UK. It's probably because their vacuum cleaners were quite disturbing XD (personally I find them disturbing, no offence)

They were probably too loud to pass the EU regulations. 🙉
Kirby are very lucky they don't sell in high street stores because they would have bitten the dust too!

Oreck is not loud or powerful. They can suck up a bowling ball without waking grandpa.
I could be wrong and the magnesium could be a squealer.

Yes it was the Magnesium they were selling over here. It has to be under 80db in the EU not sure how loud the other models are but being direct air they will be very close to the limit I'd think.

I would imagine they would have problem meeting the European standards of filtration,Deep pickup and decibel rating.

I don't think the brand really resonates over there either.
TTI has been pretty successful with Vac and Hoover there .
