~ I just heard some terrible news from a good friend of many years. He owns a small business here in L.A. One of his three employees has come down with covid-19.
My friend said he may have to close his business which has been in his family for more than 70 years. This is very sad and troubling.
I am not concerned about myself, as I haven't been to his shop in a couple of months. But I do feel great concern for him and his employees and the future of his business. |

Well it struck my home. I tested positive the 10th of June. I was quarantined for 17 days. My wife and mother in law didn't test positive. My wife works with special needs and covid would likely kill most of her clients. It would have killed my mother in law too.
I have not told many people about it. Its bad I got flu symptoms pretty severe for a few days. I have not gained my sense of smell or taste either. I'm just happy I didn't pass it to anyone. I can say wear masks when around anyone. Wash your hands often. Do not rub your face or eyes with your hands. This is how I'm told gets people infected. I didn't wear a mask and I got it. If I were to be responsible for others getting it and dying I don't know what I'd do. Its bad and I encourage everyone to wear a mask because yes you can get it. If you get it would you want someone's life on your concience. I wish your friend a speedy recovery. I hope everyone tests negative for it. Les |

~ And another - albeit indirect - strike: Arlee, my spouse, just found out that he has been laid off from Screen Actors Guild due to the pandemic. |

This too shall pass. I will offer advice. It was days 10-14 I was pretty bad borderline being hospitalized. I freaked out and made an appointment with my doctor. I had a sore throat heavy congestion and it was hard to breathe and talk. He asked if I wD taking medicine I said yes I was taking DayQuil and Mucinex for the congestion. He told me to stop taking it it was keeping the virus in my body. I stopped taking and 2 days letter I felt better than I had since having it. I was trying to fight the congestion but your body filters out the virus and medicine keeps the virus in you. Its the only advice I can give and it's not if you get over this it's when. The mind is a powerful thing. My prayers and blessings go out. This isn't a death sentence.

Yeah those kinds of cold remedy medications only mask the symptoms anyway. The only time I ever use stuff like that is when I'm sick and having a hard time getting to sleep. Idk if they keep the virus in the body per se, but they do suppress the body's response to the virus (congestion, fever, etc)... and that response is designed to fight the virus, so...

I stayed home & did grocery shopping online thru Walmart bcuz its too risky to drive to the store (I had a near-fatal heart attack about 6 yrs ago) which puts me in 'high-risk'
Ever since that heart attack I've been unable to work & rarely drive despite living in a rural area Wood County Covid totals as of 08-26-2020: 60 deaths 100 positive cases Most are from towns in Wood Co; but I don't know if rural areas in Wood Co are counted too Covid testing sites nearby are in Fostoria (about 3 miles from my house) or Bowling Green #Quedateencasa |
