tacony corporation makes the tornado line now. Including the ones powered by a gas station's air compressor.

The Tornado vacuums shown in the picture run from compressed air-BUT--the electric models are more efficient-you need like a 10hp on up compressor to run those. The electric ones run from a 15A 120V.Have one!!!Love it!!!

Here are some pictures I saved from an old for-sale posting of a Breuer-Tornado machine -looks like it's missing the bag. The design says 30's-40's to me, but could be later. Looks powerful -and loud! Wish I could try one out.

Fascinating vacuum, centralvacs1928. I never knew they made vacuums that ran on compressed air powered motors.

The vacuum in the pictures appears to be a Tornado central vacuum. The air powered ones have been made for years and still available-they are powerful-have a higher suction than the electric models.Good for places that have large central air compressors-like a large factory. Some of their compressor installations have motors of 1000 hp or even steam engine powered compressors.Ingersol Rand offered electric or steam powered compressors in older times.Compressed air and steam competed with each other-properties of each similar.Large forging pressses powered by either steam or air.
