Has anyone ever gone to Walt Disney World in Florida and gone to Disney's Hollywood Studio and rode the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride? Have you noticed after you exited the ride and walked toward the area where to purchase the pictures that were taken while you were on the ride the vintage vacuums on the shelf behind the workers who sold the pictures to the guests? There is a Hoover Model 150 , a Kirby possibly a Model 511 and some sort of hand vac, possibly a GE or Premier. The brush roll for the Kirby is out and laying next to it.

If you're considering going to a Disney park.....

Just so you know.

There are only a few times in Disney's history when they've closed the parks.

Now..... It's only April. It's one reason their stock has hit the skids.

I went to school at Disneyworld.

Yes, it was a music "performance" school. It was not easy.
I also choreographed 2 concerts there.
It was always so expensive.
I just told someone tonight that Disney reopening might be a barometer.

That Kirby is dying to be restored!

That is definitely a Premier Spic span, it has the rounded handle. It appears to have had its brushes removed, as I see bare brass in that spot in pic 2.
There is also a Ge AV1 upright on the carousel of progress.

Does anybody else remember the GE AVF-807 upright that was in the long gone (but not forgotten) "Horizons" in Epcot? The vacuum as well as the robot Butler was on display in a Horizons tribute some years back.

Yes, of course, you can use my pictures. Yes, I remember the robot vacuuming with the GE upright in Horizons. I loved back in the day when Disney had major companies sponsor their attractions, I loved the GE logo on the Carousel of Progress..

GE sponsored Horizons too, that is up until 1993. In 1994 the ride was closed for a year or so and when it re-opened that vacuum had the GE logo covered up below the headlight and the G.E. Deluxe replacement bag it had was changed to just a plain purple bag.

When I went to the New York World's Fair in 1965, I loved the GE Carousel of Progress which later moved to Disneyland. In the final contemporary Christmas scene, I will never forget spotting a brand new green GE Portable Hand Vac as one of the opened presents placed right at the edge of the stage with all the attachments and the cardboard carrier - on the left side if remember correctly. Of course, there was also a vintage GE upright in the second scene depicting all the newfangled electrical appliances of the 1920's.

That GE Progressland Pavilion at the fair was amazing! The SkyDome spectacular, the revolving theatre and the demonstration of nuclear fusion made a big impression on this 6 year old toddler!!!!

Hope all the Disney parks can reopen by the start of next year.....that will be a real sign that this World War III we are in is indeed over.
