Today, I was channel-surfing, trying to see anything other than COVID 19 coverage. I came upon both Major Healy AND Dr. Bellows talking to 'Jeanie" in a G E Roll Easy. I instantly thought of our dear, late Michael Turner. He loved G E vacuums.
A smile came across my face.

IIRC that was a black and white episode from the first season. My favorite episode is from season 2 - when the Blue Djinn (Michael Ansara) gets sucked into Tony's Hoover Dial-A-Matic 1100. I'm pretty sure it was the same DAM used on "Bewitched." I remember the aluminum strip covering the Hoover letters on the exhaust cover. I also remember seeing a coffee can Hoover in another episode.

but... a "coffee can" in a TV show like that? Wow. The house, cars, appliances, etc were so '60s. Imagine... an old coffee can!

I wish

I could have known some of these great members who have since passed away. Not only are they quite knowledgeable but also just darned fun to be around! Their enthusiasm and willingness to take the time to explain things to us newbies is a gift for sure. I miss the hand full of now retired vacuum repair guys and their shops that once thrived not so long ago. It was nice walking in and hearing "Bill, my friend, how are you today?" They are to me a special kind of person. I just inherited a GE Swivel two tone orange (?)canister that my friends dad used in the work shop and before he went in to the hospital for the last time, he put a note on the cleaner,"This is for Billy", so I'll be restoring it soon.

There was a coffee can in the show, couldn't tell you which episode, but it was cleaning the house by itself thanks to Jeannie's magic. Wonder what other vacuums (if any) appeared on "I Dream of Jeannie?"
