I am finally emptying my storage unit after 4 years in Palm Springs. I have a number of nice generally complete and original machines available for pick up here. Anyone who knows me knows that my machines are not junk. You can check out my collection pictures.

www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bi...

You should be able to spot these machines somewhere in the pictures. If the machine is not on the list it is gone or not going. Not looking make any money here, just want these machines go to good homes. Had fun collecting them but just don’t have the space to keep any more. Here is the list:

Yellow Air-Way complete with Don Clark (Eureka) power nozzle and electric hose
Complete Purple (Tom Gasko) Air-Way in the box
I think there is a complete Air-Way turquoise Model 88 in there
Tan Electrolux Model G with power nozzle
Electrolux Model E with power nozzle
Grey Princess (Filter Queen) with power nozzle
Hoover Convertible Model 68
Hoover Convertible Model 70
Hoover Convertible Model 31
Hoover Constellation Models 82 and 84 complete
Electrolux Ultra Lux with PN
Electrolux Silverado with PN
Blue Electrolux Model L
Electrolux Model 60
Blue Lewyt Big Wheels (this is a sweetheart with original tool box and hose hanger)
Pink GE Swivel Top
Hoover AeroDyne Model 51
A few other Luxes and a couple of Airways
Lots of tools, hoses and parts.

Again you must come by to pick these machines up in Palm Springs. Contact me at fnelson487@sbcglobal.net or message me through the Vacuumland message service.

Howdy Fred,

the link does not work.

Of your list, I would have loved a Conny and the yellow or Tom G. Airway.

Best of all to everyone who gets these!

Hey Fred,
If I come for a visit will you save the UltraLux for me? Then I'll ship it from there back home.

The Tom Gasko Airway

Is it possible that I pay to have it shipped here in Ohio? I am really starting to have a liking for these Airways and would like to add a second Airway to my collection. Please let me know if something could work. Thank you. -Thomas

I’ll put your name on Geneva’s Ultralux with the hose and power nozzle and put it off to the side. I have some room in the garage. This is a painful experience but as you always said, the world only spins in one direction and it’s time to move on. Sure you don’t want the Lux E and tan G back? Those came from you. Would love a visit. I have a friend (Jared the funeral director) helping me with emptying the storage unit and found a bag with Helen Lawson accoutrements including Terry Lattz’s red wig with rollers (missing the nurses cap) we gave him when he was at Tarantula Arms helping me recover from hernia surgery. Good memories!

Fred,
Gosh, I had forgotten about the Tan G and E. Was the Tan G complete? I remember the E came from a Air Hostess friend of mine--it belonged to her mother-in-law. Maybe set that one aside and I can ship it without Birdie finding out.

We are building a new home and the vacuum collection must be handled, "delicately", in the words of the wicked west of the west. Snuck a Kirby Heritage 1 in today from the neighbor after it was rebuilt at Kirby. (See post re: Heritage 1).

How about the Hoover 29 or will that remain at Tarantula Arms West?

Both Luxes

Are complete (and quite lovely.) I’ll set them aside for now. Your Kirbys are beautiful. You’ll recall the Omega (first Kirby I bought new) is a special machine to me. Mine has the original amored bag I got from you. See pic.

With respect to the Model 29, you know the story well. It is safely tucked away in my master closet along with its attachments in their caddy. They’ll have to pry it out of my dead hands. And as you know, once rigor mortis sets in that’s no easy trick. Although I’m sure you’d figure it out.

I do hope that paper bag conversion worked well in your 29, Fred! So sorry that you are selling off the rest of the bunch.

Hi Fred, I'm interested in the following if still available:

Tan Electrolux Model G with power nozzle
Electrolux Model E with power nozzle
Electrolux Ultra Lux with PN
Electrolux Silverado with PN
Blue Electrolux Model L
Pink GE Swivel Top

If "time is of the essence," I have a friend who lives in Palm Springs who can pick them up and hold them for me.

Thanks...

The last three on your list definitely have your name on them. Charlie Watrous has expressed an interest in the other Luxes. He actually gave me the Tan G and E. I will confirm his interest in those machines and let you know. If you are serious I’ll hold onto these machines in my garage. You and Arlee are welcome to come and stay here when you pick them up. I am going through what you went through with the “Great Garage Cleanup.” It would be great to catch up.

Are you sure you don’t want the Lewyt back? Not sure you realize it but you started my collection when you sold me that machine.

Hi Fred, that would be great! It would be fun to stay with you. And sure, I'll take the Lewyt back. It can keep my other two Lewyts (40 & 44) company. Thanks!

Update

compactelectra's profile picture
Crazykirbydude (sounds like me) In going through the storage unit there is an Electrolux Model Automatic F, a model S and ta da! a rather rare Model T thrift model. Charles Lester can give the history of that unusual machine. No Compacts.

Charles Richard. Just to update - I am moving your earmarked machines over to my garage. The Model E is actually an AE. I got it from Charlie Watrous who got it from a fellow flight attendant. The AE was owned by her mother who took care of it like it was the Crown Jewels. Not a mark on it. She had the power nozzle added later. Charlie and I only traded pristine machines back and forth. He is taking the Ultralux since that was my housekeeper Geneva's favorite machine and he has a history with it and he is getting the Tan G back. Just don't tell his partner. What I love about these Luxes are that you can still get hoses and original looking parts along with good filtration bags. Can I interest you in the Model T? It is rather rare and would hate to see it go to the dumpster. Looking forward to your visit to catch up.

As I empty the storage unit into the garage I find that I might have room for some of the unclaimed machines. Just won't be able to get a second car. I'll probably be keeping the yellow Air-Way and the 82 Constellation which has all its original parts including the tool caddy. The rest are duplicates and will have to go.

BTW there is a literally brand new Rainbow D2 I found in the box with Tania. I have a history with this machine since I bought one new back in the day. Even though I still have an E Series from Tom Gasko, I have decided to keep this one. It's like new with the Eureka power nozzle and hoses. Even have the pristine tool caddy.

This experience is turning out to be a treasure hunt!

Fred, of course I'd love to have the Model T. It's such a funny Plain Jane. I have one but in only fair condition. And if I could pry that Model S out of your hands, add it to my pile too!! I do have to be careful, though... each vacuum cleaner that I load into my car will raise Arlee's furrowed eyebrows higher and higher...!

This will be a good incentive for me to finish clearing out my garage of all the stuff that no one else wants, stuff that I had been holding onto "for a rainy day" -- pre-WWW-II uprights, box after box of replacement parts etc. etc. etc. We're planning a big move in the next couple of years and none of that stuff can come with us.

Don’t worry about Arlee. I’ll have him so charmed by the time you leave he won’t realize that the rear end of the car is dragging!

I would have wanted the Lewyt big wheel. I have wanted one for years. If I were still living in the U.S I would gladly drive to collect it. Or fly if needed. I keep hunting on ebay but no good examples ever come up. Maybe one day.
