Yeah that has happened so many times. When I bid on a 1945 505 a few years ago. In the last 30 seconds, it quadrupled from my bid.
Another 505 more recently, it went up quite a bit and I lost. (So Happy I ended up getting a 505 for $5 from another collector very recently!) Then one time I bid on a C a few years ago as well. It was very beat up and crusty. But the bid went up so high I couldn’t even believe they’d pay that much for a crusty C. I am not even expecting anything hopeful from this. Someone will drop a huge three digit bomb and wipe out the auction. For sure. |
