To find old cleaners I will always strive, and in most cases I don't even mind the drive. I couldn't say no to Letgo so... $15 later, I ended up with a Kirby 505!

Wow - you did get yourself a great deal! While not 100% original, I do see some very desirable black trim in place and a bag that is not too recent. Would not take much to get it back 100%, if you even choose to do so. Best of all enjoy it - can't beat the price.

Is that an Emerson fan in the background? Looks a lot like one I have...

Nice, my Father picked one up off someone’s trash when I was a kid, for the longest time it had no belt but then he finally got one. He tried to give it to my Mother to use when they bought new yellow carpets but she yelled at him to get that old dirty thing off her new carpet and put it back in the basement where it belongs and don’t ever bring it upstairs again. My Father deleted it at some point after I had moved out.....I think it just went on the trash unfortunately but maybe they sent it off to charity. It was very heavy and solid. It was difficult to push on most carpets and the height adjustment was always needing to be fussed with. I used it frequently to vacuum the carpet we had in our semi finished basement growing up as my Mother would not allow her Electrolux with power nozzle to be used in the basement.
