I was gifted this Royal 885 from a friend I picked it up at a thrift store for $8
In the process of doing a complete tear down and polish. Just finished up the Polish the best I can, The aluminum on the nozzle isn't exactly the most pure aluminum. here are some pictures for you guys let me know what you think ? I'll be doing a video on it eventually. | ||

I have this model.
2 880s with 4.5 amps I'm trying to convert 880 to 888 clone Model 4000 10.5 amp Early to mic 90s burgundy with 6 amp I have a early 1970s 400 watt motor 1945-1952 300 amp I think Model 88 or 98 from 1928 Model 672 7 amp 2028 7.5 amp. I also have a royal backpack vac. I used to have a 1030z. Les | ||

Finally got the polishing done. Was about three hours of work. The machine is back together. This vacuum took more time then any other machine in the past ,due to a small mistake I made. Detail video up soon. Wanted to share the pictures since I was so excited about it.

@Lesinutah All right I'm going to level with you dude.
Randomly stating without any context some random machines you own is a little bit odd. Nothing wrong with showing off your collection. Maybe start your own thread next time? Looking at some of your past posts , you maybe want to write down a little bit more and put what you're saying into context. I often read something you say on here and have no idea what you're talking about, nor where the Segway could even be made. As somebody who personally struggles with writing I absolutely understand how this can happen. Just take your time next time. I appreciate all the enthusiasm you bring the vacuum land. I would love to find a new bag and matching cap. Probably near impossible ,considering these machines have had their parts discontinued for over 30 years. | ||

I'll level with you too. I don't like your pot shots at me lately. I know you understand vacuums quite well. I set myself up for some of your comments. I think you are targeting me. I wanted to take pot shots back. I didn't and chose to leave it be.
Im not great at writing. I appreciate your professionalism on this thread. I have a silver tongue and it serves no purpose to waste either one of our negative energy. I do like the royal you posted on. I do enjoy your YouTube channel too. I remember Kirby cakes comment on a few videos. I now use that term. I will try to be mindful of posts. The good thing about Royals is they rarely changed much at all, and they were and still are widely used by cleaning companies, janitors, and small businesses. It should be relatively easy to find a bag for it considering the amount of parts inventory scattered around stimulates resalers and shops to keep them handy no matter how old they are.
You just missed it but in December a blue bag matching this one came up and sold for $40. Just keep looking you will find one soon. A lot of collectors on here also collect Royals so they might even be able to know where to shake the bushes at and find one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ROYAL-M... As a cheap and somewhat ratchet option - if you want to try it, you might see if you can re-dye the bag you have with some dark blue dye. Not sure if it would mess up the filtration or not with the fabric dye, or if it would hold up being used in a vacuum, but some people have done with with Kirby bags and it came out alright. | ||
