I helped an ad company empty a building for an impending sale.
In lieu of $$ I was offered numerous handmade vintage quilts. They had high price tags on them. I also got a Limoges lamp.
So, does anyone have, collect, MAKE quilts?

I love vintage quilts. I have several family quilts that were passed down from my great grandmothers. It means a lot to me to know that they were made with love and with their own two hands. I cherish them.

I do some sewing, and I've experimented with quilting. Making the squares is fun and the possibilities are endless, but it's a lot of work. I've never tried to undertake making a full quilt.

One of the favorite trials I did was the Ohio star.

Quilts

I am working on my passa.
I am not doing EPP, but use the INKLINGO method, invented by Linda Franz. Since my whip stiches are quite ugly, the simple running stich works better for me.

Anyway, since there are a lot of small patches with a lot of seams on the back, I plan to machine quilt that baby.
if it will turn out to be really beautiful, I might give it to a longarmer. Unfortunately there are not so many qualified longarm quilters in our city. But time will tell. I have only finished about a quarter of the top.

My grandmother is a very talented seamstress. She learned everything she knew from my great grandmother, who was also a very talented seamstress. A few years ago, I fixed the foot pedal on my great grandmother's Singer 301, which is now in the possession of my grandmother.
