I have seen a few of these on eBay, and I'm thinking about getting one. But I was curious as to how well they work. Anyone have one that they actually use? I only have one room with carpeting, and it's a small room.

Depends on how good or reliable your suction is at hose end.   If you're using a leaky original fabric hose that fits the electrolux in your avatar then NO, it's not going to work well.

If you have a central vacuum with excellent suction then you shouldn't have any problems.

Hey
Are you talking about the sidekick or sidekick 2.
The smaller turbo tools work very similar. If you get a good deal I'd get one. There great for stairs, bed small areas.

Hey
The pic of turbo tools above is sun par in all situations.
I'm adding a link to sidekick 2. It's good under any circumstances.

I should have been more specific 🙂 I’m talking about the carpet shampoo attachment.

I will use it on my Filter Queen Majestic or my Eureka Power Team canister those are my most powerful machines. I’ve also thought about getting a Lux shampooer.

Old or new.
If you want new there is a lux storm that is very similar to rainbows rainbow rainmate for platinum. It's $200 from great vacs.

Turbo Tool/Rug Washer

This was first an optional small tank and carpet brush for the late 50s turbo tool. The larger Rug Washer was early 60s and matched Mo G.Very little changed except the matching colors with last being jadestone/sandstone to match Diamond Jubilee.Early RWs included hard floor polishing brush, later optional. This allowed an Elux tank(with some options)to vacuum with straight suction atts, vacuum rugs with Power Nozzle, shampoo, buff & polish as well as using demother and sprayer.
The B-8 type 3 brush models are best to shampoo/polish large areas. The Rug Washer can be very useful for small areas, closets, some stairs,vans/motor homes, etc. It uses same liquid shampoo as larger B-8 that goes onto carpet as foam.Instructions advised using new bag to have max suction for the air turbine.

They do a decent job. My local Aerus guy used to give them out for free with the purchase of an Electrolux Silverado. He still has one NIB.
