Finished up cleaning, servicing, and polishing the just acquired Electro-Hygiene 230. Came with the extra power cord, bag, and handle for hand-held mode. Also came with the hose. I do have wands, just not shown in the photos. It runs beautifully and I couldn’t be happier with it! Just wanted to share some photos.

Happy vacuuming!

It looks way better than it did on eBay. It will fit into your collection perfectly.
I got an electro hygiene 990. It's red and it has the belt lifter. It has same handle for portable unit and the miniature bag. Mine looks good but not museum quality.
I like older royal/electro hygiene straight suction vacuums. I have that royal made in 1926 that's straight suction.
Glad to see you are still collecting.

Yeah, still collecting! Have had some other interests as well such as tube radio consoles, mixers, irons, all the vintage household appliances. I check in here every now and again, but I’ve been mostly on the FB groups. Anything new for you lately?

I only post on this board. It usually ends up being 3 times a week. I've gotten into vacuum advertising. I also go and find rocks. The majority is school. In plumber apprentice program I go 2 nights a week. I just finished first of 8 semesters. It's a 4 year program. You have fall and spring classes. Then I become a journeyman plumber. Glad to see you are still collecting.

I know where he got this one he didn't have to tell me. It was on eBay. The seller had it listed super high . He lowered to a good price.
Chris did clean it up. He got it in descent shape now it's museum quality.

That's a nice 230 you have there! Glad to hear the seller dropped it down to a more reasonable price! It looks beautiful and if I remember the posting correctly, it has all the attachments except for the wands. That is the original hose with it and it looks like it's in excellent condition.
Electro-Hygiene has always been one of my favorite brands, and I have one of each of the straight suction models: the model 80, which was the first, the 94, which had a hammered finish (not hammertone, but actually hammered) and was made until WWII, a 230 like yours, and a 2-230, which was almost identical to the 230, except it had a more streamlined motor case and the bag color was changed to blue.
Congratulations on a great find, and an excellent cleaning and polishing job!
Jeff
