I researched a little on eurekas. I noticed 70s had 3.5 amp lightweight vacuum. I also found out an 8.5 amp motor will fit my 7 amp sanitaire s667a blue line. I may upgrade Motor keep s&t bag and have a bad sanitairre.
The widetrack I may get eventually too. Nice vacuums and I've always liked eurekas even before I started collecting. Anyways how good are the 3.5 amp versions. Would 8.5 be good I know 7.0 amp is ridiculous but ya thanks. Les |

I don’t think a “fan-first” classic upright needs more than a 5 amp motor to deep clean carpets. My Hoover Platinum Lightweight upright (Oreck clone) has a 5 amp motor and is excellent at deep carpet cleaning. Eureka’s Vibra-Groomer One brush roll has a nice helix design that provides more room in the brush chamber and helps move dirt into the fan chamber too.
Eureka’s top fill F&G bags also to keep the air path clear and free of obstructions, so airflow is maintained as the dust bag fills. |
