Did you know that some pre-1987 Royal commercial-duty metal uprights had not one or two, but three, strain reliefs?

This third strain relief, which also has a washer, is mounted inside the bottom part of the top section of the handle, where it meets with the bottom one, to ensure extra protection against cord breakage. This same strain relief group is also used on the 3-501 commercial-duty hand vacs.
