I have both the tan stiff floor brush and ring, and the black nylon bristle rug brush for my 1965 (?) Electrolux Turbotool but I don't have the manual. I found one for the rug washer but it doesn't have any instructions for the floor polishing part. I've found a couple of pictures on the internet of older manuals but not the actual manuals themselves.
Does anyone here have either of these manuals (or another similar with floor polisher instructions)? Please post here if you do.
Here are the 1964 instructions (the one featured in your photo is likely the original 1962 version).
The air-powered polisher & scrubber component was a carry-over from the original Electrolux Polisher, introduced in 1949 during Electrolux Corporation's 25th year, followed by the Turbotool in 1957, which provided more options for workshop and yard. The Rug Washer attachment kit was introduced in 1959 along with Turbo Shampoo.
In 1962 wall-to-wall carpeting in homes was becoming popular, so the Turbotool was redesigned with an integrated shampoo tank, renamed the Turbo Rug Washer & Floor Polisher, & marketed mainly as a shampooer. The polisher & scrubber component was used only in transition; being phased out in the mid-'60s as the Model B-7 triple brush Polisher & Scrubber gained in customer preference and salesman promotion. That's why you've found it difficult to find its instructions.
Thanks for posting the bit about the floor polisher. It talks about liquid wax and I only have paste wax. However, I found another member's post of a manual for the original turbotool (the metal one) here on vacuumland. It suggests placing dime-sized dots of wax a foot apart and then using the tool -- so that's what I did and it worked quite well.
If ever I yearned for a 10-foot hose instead of the standard 7-foot hose, this was the time. I felt like I was wrestling with an anaconda, trying to polish a floor with a canister vacuum and the rug washer on the end of a wand. Three extra feet would have been very welcome.
