I saw an odd Hoover Elite style machine at a junk shop a few weeks ago. It was red, with a vibrant red striped soft bag with a preferred style logo, but I am not sure if it was called the preferred. It also had a later style hose setup where it arcs over the handle as well as a later style base with headlight. I forgot to take a pic when i was there. The issue with it was that it did absolutely nothing when plugged in and had water dripping from the base (it was on the store's porch). Does anyone have any info or pictures of this unit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Never seen one like that!
Sounds like a neat looking machine! Ive seen pictures of something similar, but the major difference is the burgundy / maroon color and the fact the hose is on the side. Did it look a little like this?

It was kind of like that
But it had a wider base, later hose, and a lighter color red. It MAY have been called the soft and light, but i could have sworn it had a preferred style logo.
It was like this but red and possibly a different logo.

there was the runabout...
The last of the elite style Runabouts was a red / burgundy striped machine. The only thing not matching here is the fact it doesn't have that wider base. But it looks very similar to the Soft & Light.
