I've been curious for a while now and there hasn't been a thread about it yet so I would to hear from some of you.

As for me? Well, green is my personal favorite color on a vacuum. Particularly the petrol kind like the Miele C3 Alize or the Panasonic Performance Plus Platinum MC-V7348 for example. But really, I like any type of green on vacuums. Especially the brighter ones like the Kenmore 2621 or the Sebo X4 in spring green for example. Black is really close, I always loved vacuums that are black in color as I was growing up. I don't think I have a least favorite color, I thought I did at first but not anymore. Although I really don't like vacuums with colors that would easily get sun damaged.

Would those two be my preferred color of choice to have, mainly no. My overall prefer choice of color to have on a vacuum just like I would have on all of my appliances and vehicles is gray/silver. Gray in my opinion is such a good looking color. For example, I really wish I could say the Panasonic MC-V7722 (or MC-UL862) and the Riccar RPU-B2 are my favorite from those lineups since they're both black. But, I like the Panasonic MC-V7720 (or MC-V7721) and the Simplicity SPU-B2 version the best since they are both gray.

So yeah, I would like to hear about yours and why you do on here.

Green does usually look good on vacuums. My personal favorite is the jade green on the hand vac below, although the camera makes it look more like blue.

I do like the matte burnt orange and glossy black of the Eureka Brushroll Clean With SuctionSeal AS3401A (name just rolls off the tongue doesn't it?)

I also like the burgundy color on the Eureka Altima. Also the cherry red and chrome accents on 1950's vacuums like the Atlas are pretty top notch as well.

On newer vacuums typically blues or greens. I agree the burgundy and chrome on old vacuums looks great. I also like a lot of Hoover's 1950s-1980s color schemes, especially the greens, blues and oranges.

Avocado and woodgrain is nice too on 60s-70s machines.

All the pastels

that Hoover used on convertables and connies etc. from 50's-70's. Black and burgundy and chrome on the vintage machines. The clear red on my Hoover Windtunnel and the clear blue on a Eureka upright look nice too. A canister vac wrapped in alligator to match your shoes and briefcase is always tasteful. just kidding.

I actually like pure white! Has kind of a “clean” and “hygienic” look for me. My only concern with white vacs is the potential for yellowing of white plastic in sunlight. So many old white Eureka canister parts and tools ended up yellowing over the years. But I think that has to do with the kind of plastic used. My white Miele C3 FreshAir special Canadian edition seems to be made of a sturdier plastic that won’t yellow.

I also love the old 1960’s Eureka cleaners that came in Lagoon Blue. So I guess after white, my second favourite is any shade of blue, like the light blue Miele Blizzard, or the dark blue Sanitaire blue line commercial vacs.

My third choice: definitely green! Especially dark hunter green Hoovers and Kenmores! But I must say the new Miele Petrol Green is beyooooteeful!!!

Favorite colors.....

Wow! That’s a tough one right there. I guess it all depends on the vacuum for me. I know that sounds rather silly, but I like certain colors on say, a Hoover Convertible (grass green U4127), whereas on other machines I like different colors. On the Electrolux vacuums, I like the clean looking metallic colors, such as the gold on the 1205 Golden Jubilee/1401 Super J; or the chrome variations as you see on the UltraLux CE models. The old Royal tanks, I like the reds; and yellow Electro Hygiene vacs. So I can’t really specifically pinpoint just one color as my favorite, just all depends on which vacuum you’re talking about!

I like my Kirby Sentria's gray with orange accents. The Electrolux Silverado is pretty sharp looking as well. I think the Super J's gold livery is a little garish. If there's any machine in my collection that I would consider doing a custom paint job on, it's that one.

I'm pretty fond of blues... Electrolux has had some form of blue in their product lines for years. The L, G, 1205, 1521 Ultralux Classic, Epic 6000, early 2000s Lux Legacy & Guardian (blue trim).

Human... I agree that the Golden/Super J is a little garish, BUT it also is totally a product of that era, so I appreciate it for that. A "junk" store in my downtown area still uses a Super J for cleaning, and you occasionally see it out and about the building.

I recently discovered that my grandparents owned a Super J (my parents found the owner's manual when going through their things). I knew that they had a 1205 (which I remember being in their camper and was later in my aunt's possession before it disappeared) and a Diamond Jubilee (which was given to my parents and then to me), but I had no idea they ever owned a Super J. My suspicion is that the 1205 was moved to their camper around the time that the Super J became their new, primary house vac. And I suspect that the Super J was *probably* traded in on the Diamond Jubilee, but I'm not totally sure. I don't remember ever seeing that one.

Long story short, I appreciate the Super J more now than I did before. But blues are still my favorite.

Turquoise and the chrome cannot be beat. Like the Electrolux model G. Black, purple, and chrome are also great color combinations, like the airway signature series.

The color scheme of the Sanitaire upright

...is my favorite. The red base and bag, chrome handle and hood, and the cream cord and cord hooks seem to go together real well, though my SC886 and basically any other Sanitaire for the past decade or so comes with grey cords and hooks.

The color scheme of the Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 seem to go together well in its own endearing way, as does the DS80 and Classic/Classic Omega. I like the black-bagged pre-500 and early-500 series Kirbys as well, though for some reason those have sort of a eerie aura to them -- think of what a young child may feel to see one of these sitting in a dark corner of the basement or attic.

I'm not really a fan of the bright red (Betty Crocker red) Classic III, the blue Tradition, the lavender Legend II or the bag color of the Sentria I (which seems to fade after a few years, giving the appearance that it is dirty and packed with dust, even if washed). The Sentria II, however, looks much improved -- almost like it belongs on the housekeeping carts of nicer hotels.

The Kirby Avalir I and II are great designs, which I feel conveys to the average person really well that a Kirby doesn't have to look like a 50-year-old machine but doesn't go overboard at the same time.

Navy blue is my favorite color. I have a hard time resisting vacs are navy blue. LOL.

I usually only buy dark colored vacs, I don't have any all white vacs in the home. Lately, I seem to have stumbled amongst several Candy Apple red models. LOL

I've enclosed a couple of the blue models and also a recent photo of all the red colored ones I own.
